Raymond Albert Raya, Esq. graduated from William & Mary Law School in Williamsburg, Virginia. Admitted to the New Jersey bar in 1998, he has represented clients in every county in New Jersey. His cases have been featured on CNN and in The New York Times, The Star-Ledger and the Asbury Park Press. Governor McGreevey appointed him to a state task force that studied New Jersey’s system of fines and procedures for motor vehicle offenses.

A well-known figure in Central Jersey courts, he has tried many high-profile cases involving motor vehicle violations and criminal charges. Helped guide the organization through issues facing municipal public defenders, and established a response system for Assignment Judge policies related to municipal court practice.

Governor’s Task Force on Motor Vehicle Fines

Selected as the defense attorney in the State to sit on the Task Force. Conducted an exhaustive study of fines associated with the Motor Vehicle Code and took part in Task Force meetings with the MVC, the Attorney General’s Office, the N.J. State Police and the Administrative Office of the Courts.
